DJ, your own iPhone iPod app with mobile podcast included for €99/$139 only

Podcast is nice, and a real good way for DJ, but only technophile people actually subscribe. iPhone and iPod apps are the new way to reach a larger audience, as they can not only include a podcast without needing the user to understand what’s RSS and how to subscribe in any software and you can provide your complete activity: twitter account, blog, dates from your MySpace, photos from Flickr, videos from YouTube channel, boards… etc. And you can do it internationally !

For a maximum number of DJs to benefit from an iPhone app, we are launching a €99 offer (until 30.9, it will be €149 thereafter ) which is including a podcast (hosted for free on NeoPodcast for 1 year) and one feed among Twitter, blog or MySpace dates. Important question: can we use a podcast which is not hosted on NeoPodcast ?
Yes, you can do that, but you have to follow Apple guidelines (which wants bandwidth used to be low) when app is submitted, which means either a few DJ sets only, or using a mobile codec (HE-AAC or AACplus v1 48 Kbps for example) which offers good quality. What you can also do, is a dedicated mobile podcast on NeoPodcasts. Once approved by Apple, you can add as many sets as you want. DJ Hedonist app was submitted with only one DJ set at 48 kbps and get new DJ sets since.

SalesForce.com support added

Worldwide Leading Software as a Service (SaaS) SalesForce web services support has been added for our professional customers for their internal or customer support. What does this mean ? It means that they can now directly send a podcast (whether it be a PDF Documentation, a screencast or a software application…) within a SalesForce page (Contact Name and Case Detail page right now but other developments will follow). There are several benefits:

• You don’t have any size limitation as you have with email servers or accounts
• You don’t have the storage limit (and the expensive upgrades) imposed by SalesForce
• You don’t have to upload a file to SalesForce every time you need to send a file to a recipient through a salesforce case. Sending a file already present on the podcast website require only a few clicks. You don’t lose time waiting for the upload to finish.
• You can grant a certain volume of downloads and track how many downloads were done by a customer for a file
• Customer can receive it automatically/on demand thanks to the podcast system
• Customer can still connect to a webpage (personalized to your company design) with its credentials to download it in a more traditional way

NeoPodcasts v2.0 preopening

First post on this blog, to announce the v2.0 preopening. v1 is always available (only in French) from the v1 link on home page. v2.0 is only available to happy few right now as it is in alpha testing phase (we regularly add features) and as you can read on the home page, we want to focus on “useful” podcasts, ie for an usage we detect as soon as first podcasts appeared (and that you have seen on NeoMusicStore for 2 years now with label subscription) which is to provide personalized content to anyone, automatically pushed. Multiple usages are possible around this technology and NeoPodcasts aims to provide them all.

As always, we’ll be very reactive to user feedback, that’s why we’ve built a bugs/ideas section, to let know which features you would like to have, and issues you possibly encountered.

A standard podcasting offer is still available with a very competitive offer (€2 per gig and per month, difficult to do better), and still easy to manage.
